  1. My favorite book I read this trimester was the third book, which was Everything Everything . This was my favorite book because I got to choose what i wanted to read. This book always kept you entertained, and it read really fast. The characters in this book always had a problem, and solved them. My least favorite book was Chinese handcuffs because the story went so slow and not very many things went on.

  2. My favorite book i read this trimester was my third book, Billy Summers by Stephen King. The characters were very interesting to learn about and the way he told the story just made it very engaging for me. Billy being a hitman on his last job definitely made it more appealing towards me compared to the other 2 books i read. I didn't like Stotan because i wasnt really interested in the story at all and it felt annoying to have to read it.

  3. Out of the three books we read this trimester, the third book was my favorite since I got to pick it myself. I didn't have only a few options to pick from, I got to pick from a number of books in the library. My third book was Vampire Academy. I liked the third book better because this book had a lot more of my interests in it. I liked the mystery, the fantasy, the fiction, and the romance. The other books I read were ok but they didn't live up to the standards of the third book. I don't usually like reading but this book made me actually want to read outside of class, which really surprised me. It didn't take that long to finish. I loved the plot and all the characters as well.

  4. I read two very good books this trimester, "A Thousand Splendid Suns" and "The Hate U Give". With that being said, I do not know which one was my favorite. I think I am leaning towards "A Thousand Splendid Suns" because it was a book I did not anticipate on liking it. The characters were a huge impact on my liking of the book because I felt like I knew so much about them. The plot/conflicts were also very helpful because it was so crazy that they were treated in such ways. My least favorite book was the first one I read which was called "Stotan!" because there was no storyline and the characters were not anything special.

  5. My favorite book I read this trimester was A Thousand Splendid Suns. It was my favorite because of all the twists and the character development. The conflict in this book was interesting as well. Mariam and Laila were bound to a terrible man due to their culture and they had no escape for many years. My least favorite was Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes. I enjoyed the book, it just was not as good as my other two.

  6. My favorite book I read this trimester was the third book "The Return" by Nicholas Sparks because I got to chose it. I wasn't a fan of the book at first but it eventually got really interesting. The plot of the book really took my interest. The mixture of romance and mystery really is the reason why I ended up enjoying this book. The other books I read in this class were okay but I just prefer romance overall and I just wasn't really interested in them. But "The Return" I put in a lot of outside reading time in which was weird it was just such a good book. I loved how each character had an important role.

  7. Out of the three books we read this tri, the third book I read was my favorite, which was It Ends With Us. This was my favorite book because I got the choose what it was. This book also always keep me entertained and never had a boring moment, it also went by really fast. What I liked about this book was the meaning behind it and how one deserves so much more then they might think. My least favorite book was Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes, this was my least favorite because it took a long time to get into and was kind of boring.

  8. My favorite book was Running Loose. It was my favorite because I really liked the pace it was at and the details that it explained and how it dealt a lot with football really intrigued me. The plot was very good the conflict being in a high school making it somewhat relatable and the characters were fun. My least favorite book was A Long Way Gone. I liked A Long Way Gone it just didn't seem as good or interesting to me as Running Loose and Night.

  9. My favorite book, was the 3rd, Gabi A Girl In Pieces. This was my favorite because it was funny and relatable. The author had really good details that helped me picture what was going on. And there was never a boring moment, something new was always happening. I also liked how it was set up like a diary, and it was a super easy read.

  10. I read Chinese handcuffs, along way gone, and night. My favorite out of these three is Chinese handcuffs mostly just cause it wasn't boring there was always something happening. The book got right into it and it keeps that pace until the end but the end is still really good. I did not like along way gone the book was very repetitive they just kept on moving villages it was just not for me.

  11. My favorite book this year was my 3rd book, A stolen life by Jaycee Dugard. Going into my senior year I started Composition. In this class i choose to write about a subject I don't know much about. This topic being sexual abuse. After researching sexual abuse, the topic that really spoke to me was the survivor stories. And that is what A stolen life is about. The author Jaycee Lee Dugard was kidnapped at age 11 on her way to school. Jaycee was heled in captivity for 18 years. In this book Jaycee tells us what happed in first person. Reading this book got hard at times, when she was explaining all the gruesome things that happed to her. At some point I did have to put my book down because I was in utter disbelief that something like this could happen to a girl. Overall I thought this book was very good and it taught me a lot. I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn't know about sexual abuse and is interested in this topic, and want to learn more.

  13. I think that this book was my favorite because i have read other books in the series and really liked them. I have always enjoyed more fiction books then books that were based in real life because they are always more exciting. the charecters were always up to something and there wasn't ever a dull moment. I didn't really have a least favorite the other 2 wern't really interesting to me though

  14. My favorite book this year was Don't Give Up. I enjoyed reading this book becuase I was able to choose it and I could connect to it. These types of books are my favorite to read because I can learn something from them. My least favorite book was I Am Malala. I think this was my least favorite because I am not really into history. While reading it shared a lot of information about Malala's culture and gave a lot background information so that you were able to better understand the book. That is what I think made it boring for me.

  15. My favorite book this trimester was Fablehaven because I love fantasy books in general and this caught my attention and has held my attention the entire time reading this book. I liked how the author has developed the characters and as well as the settings of the book and makes you feel like your in a fantasy land with mythical creatures and by default my least favorite book is Night as I have only read 2 books in the trimester and it was gruesome depiction the halocaust and the events surrounding it and prefer to keep things light hearted over the evil of the Nazi's Reich

  16. Escape Room was my favorite book to read this trimester. It was thrilling to read, not quite knowing what was going to happen and kept me guessing. I did not know what to expect because this book was recommended to me and I bought it off of amazon. My least favorite was I am Malala, it was mostly about her fathers struggles. It was overly long and drawn out. She just kept repeating things and I wish she would have explained other things. I think it would have also been interesting to get someone else's point of view, and maybe some of the diaries she sent into the BBC.

  17. Percy Jackson the lighting thief was my favorite book because I like adventure books and like myth and Percy Jackson is linked to the gods like Zeus and Poseidon and it just talks about how Percy Jackson is trying to please the god and stop a war from raging out but on of the kids at the camp was the gods to wage war but that could mean the end of the war and Percy is trying to stop the world from all going down. Percy ends up saving the world and getting Zeus his lighting bolt and he become the hero.

  18. Night by Elie Wiesel was my favorite book we read this Trimester. In the book our main character Elie is a very strong character and is a true survivor. I am very interested in WWII and holocaust stories. It is a very action packed book with a lot of information and descriptions. Throughout the book I was able to imagine even the little details of the story and really get immersed into Elie's story. It is super interesting to see how everything was slowly effecting Elie's personality and his morals, we can especially see this when he is considering abandoning his ill father. My least favorite book was A Thousand Splendid Suns, I couldn't quite get into the book. There wasn't much to relate to in the book, although it was interesting it wasn't very entertaining.

  19. of the three books i got to read i think the book night was my favorite only because the holocaust is really interesting to me. i like the suspense built and the events that lead up to the ending. i like the way the author puts things in detail aswell.

  20. My favorite book this Trimester was my third book which was The Compound by S.A. Bodeen. It was the easiest for me to ready and had the best plot in my eyes. I like how it was his dad that ended up being the Antagonist in the book and how you slowly start to see that he was lying about everything. It started off a little slow but after a couple chapters, it got interesting fast. My least favorite book this trimester was The Kite Runner. It is not my style of book and was very boring to ready.

  21. The Reaper was probably my favorite book I read out of the three. I thought it was the best because it was about something that I was actually interested in and really did not have any boring parts. My least favorite was probably Chinese Handcuffs because through out most off the book it had a lot of boring parts with no action and I really did not like the story line.

  22. i would have to say that night was it was a fast read and interesting to learn about i think i knew some stuff about the holocausts but want to learn some more about it and got new information long way gone it was a good read but very slow

  23. out of my three books I read my favorite was my most recent because prisoner b037 is about Nazi con centration camps and what it was like to be in one of them. Yanek went through a bunch of hardships and conflicts with his family dying. and having to make it out of the camp without losing his uncle in the process. I was interested in thee book the whole time because of the cliff hangers that each chapters leave you off on.

  24. Out of all of the three books that i read this trimester, my favorite would be my third choice The Longest Ride. The other two books i got were not the usual books i love to read. I love romance books or fantasy. The two books i read were not part of that. My least favorite was I am Malala because it mostly talked about the government. I wish i would have been able to hear more of her story because she did write the book.

  25. My favorite book read this trimester was my Chris Crutcher book, Stotan!. I wasn't too invested in the running theme of swimming, but I enjoyed the characters and their personalities - especially with how much these unique characters interacted with one another - so much it made the story just that much more interesting. Funny as it is, my least favorite book was the personal choice, Elie Wiesel's Night. It wasn't a bad book by any means, it's just one of those situations where the other two just were better reads to me.

  26. my favorite book i read this year was night. i chose this book because it was very informational and it really opened my eyes. this book was a good attention grabber and it made me want to keep reading it. the things they had to endure was horrible and elie puts it all in great detail. my least fav was the book by chris crutcher running loose. it was boring and wasnt that interesting to me

  27. my favorite book was night because it was the most interesting because i love world war 2 and how world war 2 happened and the holocaust is no different to me. and i enjoyed how i learn in depth on the holocaust and i love how ellie talked about it in depth on everything that happened in it

  28. Of the three books i read this tri, Night was by far my most favorite. I think i liked it most because of the history in it and how i can have a true account of what happened during the holocaust. I liked that He was actually there during the time of the book. he gave me incite on how people felt and acted. My least favorite was the Laramie Project because of the layout of the book, and how it was a play.

  29. My favorite book that I read over the trimester was A Thousand Splendid Suns because there were so many twist and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. My favorite part in the book was when the two separate parts of the book collided due to arranged marriages. I also thought the plot of the book was really interesting how they connected everything together. My least favorite book i read this trimester was the book A Rebel in Auschwitz. This book was interesting at some points but it got boring towards the middle of the book.

  30. My favorite choice novel of the class was the third novel. The freedom we were given was nicer compared to the other two novels. I chose Night by Elie Wiesel, mainly because of the subject matter and topic. There are very few autobiographies out there from the perspective of Holocaust survivors. This was my choice book for the second novel but I'm glad it was used for my third option. It is also very different considering the book covers a much darker theme and tone compared to the other novels, which only adds more to the story being from the perspective of a child.

  31. My favorite book was Running Loose. It was my favorite because I liked the speed it was the whole time. The plot of the whole book was great because i could relate to basically all of the events one way or another. The football factor had something to do with it for sure. Overall it was a great book with a lot of plot twists and impactful moments.

  32. of all the books i read this trimester, Escape Room was my favorite. I enjoyed the characters, and overall plot of the book. It kept me interested unlike the other 2 i read previously. My least favorite was a Thousand Splendid suns. I had trouble even finishing the book because i wasn't interested in the story line. Some parts were interesting but it was just too boring for my taste.

  35. My favorite book of the trimester was the book that I got to choose. This book was Michael Vey: Prisoner of Cell 25. I enjoyed this book the most because of how much it kept me intrigued the whole way through. The storyline of these kids having electric powers was something I have never read before and the book always had me guessing what would happen next. My least favorite book was Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes. This book was kind of slow to start and a little bit confusing. It also did not match my interest levels very much.

  36. My favorite book of the trimester was Night by Elie Wessel. I liked this book because it was about World War II and the Holocaust. To me this time period is very interesting, and hearing different stories from that time give you a better idea of what really happened. I also liked to read about Elie's relationship with his father and compare it to my life.

  37. My favorite book of the third trimester was What The Fireflies Knew. I enjoyed this book because it was about a young black trying to over come everything in her life. When KB was trying to solve every one else problem but her own. I like how this book shows growing of age, race, and romance. I like how at the end that she sad at the beginning she could not catch fireflies but now she can. The book that was my least favorite was the Chinese Handcuffs. I say this because it was not that interesting to me, well some parts.

  38. My favorite book of this trimester was my own book, Ghost Boys because it puts you into the perspective of a spirit of a young black boy who died due to racism and discovers that they are other spirits like him. The story is very easy to process and the characters are very memorable. My least favorite book I've read this trimester was I Am Malala because the story was hard to understand and had too much background information.

  39. My favorite book of this trimester was defiantly Night. I believe this because i wanted to always keep reading the book. Elie makes this book as if you were there. Being able to not only understand the book but also feel like your in the book is something a lot of authors fail to do. In my eyes, Elie shows me hope and commitment to goals in life. The way he has to overcome obstacles non stop compares to everyday problems in our lives today. I would say this book is a high interest level for me and others. I have always found holocaust books very intriguing to read. My least favorite book would have to be Chinese Handcuffs. I thought this book was going to be a good read, although throughout the book it was slow and sometimes hard to understand.

  40. My favorite book this tri was the 3rd one, night, it was my 1st option for the second book. I liked this book mostly because i enjoy reading about history and following the story of one of the survivors is interesting and does not happen to often. for my least favorite book it was Stotan. it just felt pretty bland even near the end, despite all the events and occurrences in the book it just didn't seem to pull me in to much.

  41. My favorite book I read this tri was my 1st one Running Loose. It kept me interested because the author made a movie in my mind. The author was very descriptive and new things always happened in the book. My least favorite book was the 2nd one A long way gone. The same things kept happening over and over in the book. He would run then found a village then run from the rebels again.

  42. My favorite book was the last one I read, Then She Was Gone, because it never got boring there was always something interesting happing in the book. I loved how descriptive the book was of all the settings. My least favorite was my 2nd book, I Am Malala, because I thought it was really boring up until when she was shot and then it got interesting, but there was less than 100 pages left in the book at the point.

  43. My favorite book from this class was my last book. My last book was The Last Song. The Last Song had a good setting and the whole story just kept me interested the whole time. My least favorite book was Chinese Handcuffs because it really did not keep me interested.

  45. My favorite book I read was probably Chinese handcuffs by Chris Krutcher. It might be because I was dreading this second half of English 4 because I usually do not enjoy reading but when I started this book it actually got me excited to read more. It was different than a lot of books that I read in the past but it was very interesting.

  46. My third book was my favorite book from all three. I read All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. This was my favorite book because it had a very relatable storyline and the characters were the same age as me and going through similar things I am going through.
