Of the three books you read this trimester, which was your favorite and why?  Please give specific examples as to why this book was your favorite.  Was it the characters?  The plot?  The theme?  The conflicts?  The interest level?  Which was your least favorite, and why?  (You do not need to respond to two classmates for this entry)  I hope you found the class enjoyable, and I wish you nothing by success in you future!

Blog Response #10

When an author writes a book, he or she has a purpose as to why he/she is sharing this story.  This lesson or theme plays out throughout the book.  Share what you believe the author's purpose was for writing this book.  What lesson do you feel he/she wanted you to learn.  (In response to other's blog posts, try to connect your theme with those of other books.)

Each novel has a setting or multiple settings.  How does your author create images of the setting?  If you had to describe the time/place of when your novel takes place, how would you do this?  Does the author use the setting to help develop the plot in your book?  What particular images does the author create that are memorable?  Is there a particular scene you can visualize, and why is this image so vivid? **In response to the blogs, try to make connections with your novel's setting.  How is your setting similar to that of other books?
